"It's where you stand and how you look at things. Imagine your on a train going down a track. You can't see where it's been. You can't see where it's going. You can't see the log on the track. Now imagine you are standing on a hill. You can see where the train has been. You can see where the train is going. You can see the log on the track. You can see the accident in someones future. It's where you stand and how you look at things..."

I loved that man too. Jules and I spent a lot of time talking magic and I watched his cold readings blow everyone away that witnessed it. It was a thing to see.

He was amazing and yes, when he passed it was one of magic's greatest losses. Of course we don't need to drive him around anymore, but even that had it's rewards.

Thanks for bringing him up. One of Magic's greatest magicians. We love you Jules...

I used to live in Milson Road, just around the corner from Richmond Way. I would often pop down to the basement, spending what little money I had on the odd trick or two. Always excited to see him demonstrate the new items. I remember him chopping my hand off at one point. He certainly helped me gain an interest in magic that is still with me today. Sleep well...

Nick: This is a great story. Naturally, Tommy was my hero too (as were David Nixon and Robert Harbin, of course). Tommy never did quite master doing the multiplying bottles without a bit of 'exposure' - but who cared? The routine was (and is still) hilarious. You were a very lucky man to have met him.

I LOVED this! The photos are priceless -- I especially love the second from last. Also, I can't believe Piet was the originator of the ol' shoe-inside-sock. That's a million-dollar travel tip.

The last photo of Piet with the white rabbit was when he first began his magic career at the age of 14.....that was his first paying gig. I know about that, cause I was there. I am his little sister and was his first magic assistant (I was 8 years old).

Piet was not much interested in school learning growing up......all he cared about was learning how to be a Magician. Nevertheless, despite not liking school, Piet is one of the smartest people I've ever known, almost to the point of genius. He's educated himself by being an avid reader. There's no subject that he doesn't know something about if you ask.

He's a fascinating "character", a legend before his time, & always has a joke and a quick wit. He will always leave you laughing and is someone that, once you meet him, you will never forget him.

You can probably say that I'm partial to Piet because he's my brother, but I don't care what you think. I love my big brother.

Yes, his life's story would make a wonderful movie!

Thanks Nick. I've been Piet's brother in law for 34 years. I enjoyed this bit of history about him that I was unaware of. He's still quite the showman. His story should be on film.
Thanks, Bob
